“I am” Poem

I am…

A daughter, the eldest of two, raised in a loving home in the city of San Antonio, Texas.

A sister, eight years older, I’ve always looked after the other.

A friend for eight years now and still counting, always by each other’s sides whether it be during school, writing this poem, in band, cooking, eating, driving, watching our favorite TV shows, or simply just being together.

A piccolo player, I’ve been playing for seven years now, has taught me obedience and control, has gotten me new friendships, and had me work hard for my goals, and I believe I am now a better person for it.

A fan girl, hopefully not that crazy, am in love with TV shows, which I have now gotten my

Friends into, its how I love to spend my time.

I am…

Chinese candies, un-sweet tea, chamoy, and Mexican food.

Comfortable, big bed, with my laptop in hand, and music playing, homemade blankets, crocheted by mom, warm and soft, makes me feel at home.

A ferret harness to walk my ferrets, or rather they walk me

Playing cards to play games with my family like I’ve done my entire life

A piece of granite from elephant rocks that I took off the side, because I thought it was so beautifully interesting.

Going to college someday, to become successful in my goals.

I am…

Dark brown eyes, with dark brown hair to match, and light brown skin to show where I come from.

Curly hair and a sarcastic attitude.

Unique shoes, leggings, and a cardigan to match.

Almost 18, I’m ready to be free like Dobby from Harry Potter.

Reading everyday takes me on new adventures

Becoming more cultured, and happier.

  1. So many specific and unique aspects of your personality are captured here, Desiree! I haven't seen Harry Potter, but I like that line about being ready to be free like Dobby (I do somehow know Dobby's ultimate fate). Your comfy bed sounds like the perfect nest, and I share your love of Mexican food. Thanks for creating a blog (I also don't really know what Dr. Who is all about but I do recognize the tardis, isn't it?) I look forward to reading more of your ideas!
