Creative final

1.)A few of my pieces of writing that I have done this year in this class include my six word memoirs post on my blog that are exactly what the title says. That post made an impression on my friends and I especially on our band trip right after we did this assignment because we were bored and we had nothing else to do so we came up with a bunch of six word memoirs such as “who cares we got a medal”, “walking until I find something cool”, and “I watch too much star trek”. Other writing pieces that I enjoyed were the newspaper and magazine cut out poems and stories that can be all found in my journal. Usually for these poems and stories I was able to reference some sort of television show that I enjoy which made me happy because I’m kind of a movie/ TV show fanatic, so being able to write about the things I love made me really enjoy writing. The children Stories that we created was another one of my favorite things I was able to which was about multiple dogs: Lima, Pinto, Jelly, Green, etc. who their owner was talking saying “my dog ___ likes to roam. My dog ___ left their home. She/he came home all nice and clean, oh where, oh where had ___ been?” so the joke of the story was that when the owner was asking where their dog had been, it sounded like they were saying the name of a bean like Lima bean, Pinto bean, Jelly bean, and so forth.  And also I made a cow out of the word “moo” for my (acrostic) poem inspired by a picture(the picture was of a hamburger) http://youvulcant.blogspot.com/2013/11/moo.html

2.) The piece I really enjoyed reading was written by Carissa was titled “Johnlocked” it’s a fan fiction based on the TV show Sherlock, which is my favorite show. Plus I just really enjoy Carissa’s writing style in general and I wish she would finish the story for me but I’m pretty sure I’m going to wait like how long I waited for series 3 of Sherlock to come out (which was two years). She uses really good descriptive words in what she writes, and I wish that she would write more because it really is very good, and I bet other people would like her writing style too.

3.) Setting up my blog wasn’t really difficult being that I was already the owner of a blog which I tend to edit the html on a lot already to add things I like, but I came up with the name for my blog because, well I am a huge fan of star trek, a Trekkie if you will so how could I resist a perfect opportunity to involve more star trek into my work at school. The things that I did post aren’t normal things that I would post on a regular blog because well this was for a class so the assignments don’t really flow with the theme of my blog; I can’t really see anyone really enjoying this blog because these aren’t the things that I would have wanted to post, but I will continue to blog on my own on my tumblr blog that I have.

4.) I don’t think I will continue to journal, maybe online but not with a pencil and paper. I don’t really consider myself to be a “good” writer so it’s really not my thing to journal. However, in my Journal there are a lot of doodles because I do like to doodle because in a sense it does give me ideas to write about, mostly about the TV and books I enjoy.

5.) (Newspaper cut out stories/poems)

The man in the blue box was there first and then I told him it’s not my division.

Never make your demos far from heaven: Why can’t your worries stop? And everything be divine. It’s nice to see life after death, feel less inadequate. But never be someone else, everything will shine on. Ready, set, restart.

6.) This was the Famous first and last lines story that we had to create and I think I was most proud of this when I wrote it at the time. “I had the story, bit by bit, from various people, and, as generally happens in such cases, each time it was a different story. Though, being the Doctor and all it was my job to figure out what was happening here-and then it hit me, but as soon and the idea reached my brain and begun to spill from my lips, Martha and I were sent back into the past."Doctor what's happening?!" a breathless Martha exclaimed to which I answered "we-all... apparently the angles have gotten a hold of the tardis and have sent us into the past in an attempt to get inside, but fortunately for us I know someone who can help."
"The angels? Like in the bible?"
"Not exactly Martha, there are these statues that appear to be angles, and appear to be statues, but actually they are one of the oldest creature still around on earth. “Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death. The rest of your life used up and blown away in the blink of an eye. You die in the past, and in the present they consume the energy of all the days you might have had, all your stolen moments. They’re creatures of the abstract. They live off potential energy.” Now we need Sally Sparrow to bring us the tardis since we are so unconventionally stuck in the 1970s."
Now all I need to find are some supplies in order to send Sally a message in the only way I know she'll get it. I started the camera, handed it over to Martha and began my message for the infamous Sally Sparrow.
"Don’t blink.
Blink and you’re dead.
Don’t turn your back.
Don’t look away.
And don’t blink.
Good Luck."
Are there any questions?

7.)The only creative writing that I may or may not do, well I don’t know if it’s considered creative writing but I really like to format html and write in what I do know how to do (still learning). That’s technically considered creative writing I hope… but I also come up with a lot of puns and silly things like that. Writing in school is completely different because you have to write what the teacher wants you to write, but when you do it on your own it has more freedom to grow and be an “individual”

8.)

Carissa: you really should write more, I do believe you are a genuinely good writer and people will love it.

Trevor: I will miss all of your hilarious gifs of everything.

Jordan (Pablo): I wish you were signed up to be in my Spanish class because we’d have so much fun

 - Jenifer

Shay: I appreciated your use of alliteration in your blog title and I have no idea how you and trevor got so many page views.

This class was a lot of fun, and i really enjoyed it. I would take this class 100 times over if i could, thank you for a great semester.

Resolutions fill-in

This year I will try not to procrastinate quite as much.

This year I will let go of High school and embrace college with open arms and empty pockets.

I will honour my ferrets and love my ferrets

I will stand up and share my ferret gifs with the world!

writing as a gift

Dear Carissa,
I know how much you like cute boys and cats so I put a bunch of animals and Ian Somerholder on the envelope thing, so I hope you enjoy it. We’ve been friends since the second half of 5th grade, which makes it about 8 years now that we have been besties. There is so much that we’ve done and much of it would be inappropriate to include in this letter but you know what happened, and it’s all definitely what made how I am today. Which is why I’m an awful person; but all in all I’m actually pretty happy that we were able to stay close friends for so long and I enjoy the time that we spend together. And the thing I think that I love most about our friendship is how we respect each other, and that we are so entirely different from one another. We aren’t those friends that you see that are basically the same person which makes me really happy. I just hope we will be able to maintain a friendship past high school and college (so we should definitely get an apartment in a couple years after OTC. We can smoke hookah and drink out of fine wine glasses and have raging Netflix parties because we can’t have real parties because we don’t have any other friends.) You have no idea how much that idea makes me excited except that I’ll probably just be watching star trek half the time on my computer so hopefully we won’t become too overwhelmingly tired of one another. All in all you probably won’t ever be able to get rid of me ever. Even when were old as hell ill still always find some way to contact you whether it be through phone or text, or me breaking into your house and kidnapping you I’ll always be around. This is not a friendship I’m willing to give up on, unless you kill my family or something.
                                                                                                                                Merry Christmas bb,
                                                                                                                                From Desiree bb

(Writing) about a boy

“I am not a sheep.”
Me neither.
Sheep have four legs while I have two. Sheep have hooves while I have hands. Sheep give wool whereas I do not. I am not a sheep because I’m not white. If anything I refuse to be herded anywhere and eat grass from the plains and go “baaa” for if I did I can surely assure you that I would be put in the loony bin, and I wouldn’t  be here writing why I am not a sheep. It should be pretty obvious after all. The biological make up of a sheep is very different compared to a human, yes we both have blood and a heart and the hearts are very similar and all, both having left and right atriums and ventricles and valves and what not pumping blood throughout the body because our blood wouldn’t be able to do it by itself because of this lovely thing called gravity. But more to the point I can assure you I am not a sheep because look at my face with my fur and my oblong eyes, and my snout with my mane of wool around my body and my four hooves; oh wait…. So I might be a little bit like a sheep.

Food inspried

Although small, these chocolate mice mean a lot to me. Every year for Christmas my grandma and I always make these little mice together. She always dips the cherry in the chocolate while I assemble the ears and the face together. I've always enjoyed making them with her because I feel like I don't spend a whole lot of time seeing her because of how busy I am on a day to day basis leaves me little time to visit, so Christmas is when I'm finally able to be with my family and spend quality time with them even though I don't necessarily enjoy cooking or baking, these are easy and fast to make. I feel as though my family may not be as traditional every year for Christmas, like we don't have a set date to put up the Christmas tree, and we don't always wait till morning to open our presents; but I always make time for making these treats with my grandmother. They’ve been our tradition ever since I can remember them, even when my grandparents used to live in Texas and they would come here for the holidays she would always bring these mice that she made the day before so we could have them while we celebrate Christmas.

I also feel as though I have a lot of food connections with my grandma on my dad’s side because she really loves to cook, she’s always cooked the best things I can remember from enchilada Wednesdays to back bone soup most of her dishes are that of more Mexican cultured, being that my dad’s side of the family derives from both Mexico and Spain so naturally most of the meals we do eat usually have the stereotypical rice and beans on the side. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t open to trying new things, like my mom’s corn beef and cabbage that she grew up with, and her meat loaf or Sheppard’s pie. So I guess it really just depends on who’s cooking supper that day, but in the end that bowl of guacamole looks pretty good.

Knuffle Bunny

  • Title of book: Knuffle Bunny
  • Author of Book: Mo Willems
  • The author's bio is located at the back of the book and it says that Mo Willems has won six Emmy awards for his writing on sesame street, the creator of Cartoon Network's Sheep in the big city, and is head writer of Codename: kids next door
  • the cover of the book is an actual black and white photo of a staircase leading to a house with a chain fence located at the base of the staircase in New York where there is a person shown from the waist down who is wearing blue jeans and brown shoes. The person shown as a male has a watch on his hand that is patting the little girl's head shown in front of the man's legs. the little girl has three tufts of blonde hair on the top of her head, big round eyes, a pointy nose, a big smiling grin with three teeth on the top of her mouth and two located on the bottom, she is also wearing a pink shirt with matching shoes and orange overalls with red-orange buttons. And lastly, in her right arm she is shown holding a cream colored stuffed rabbit (Knuffle Bunny).
  • number of pages: 18
  • Characters: Trixie, Mom, and Dad (and Knuffle bunny although an inanimate object is still really important to Trixie, might as well be a real person to her.)
  • Setting: a house, a park, and a Laundromat located in New York
  • Summary: Trixie and her dad went to a local Laundromat to do their laundry but when her dad wasn't looking he accidentally put Knuffle bunny into the washing machine. On their way home Trixie realized what had happened and tried to tell her dad, but since she's only a little girl she can only speak gibberish. When they got home her mom realized what the problem was so the whole family ran back to the Laundromat to retrieve Knuffle bunny, which inevitably were Trixie's first words.
  • This book technically has an animal character (Knuffle bunny)
  • this book doesn't use rhyme
  • This book didn't really teach a lesson of some kind unless you're a parent, then the lesson is to listen to your kids and pay attention to what you put in the washing machine.
  • this book didn't have ay monsters in it.
  • this book did have a kid as a character.
  • this book did contain adults as characters.
  • this book did use humor.
  • this book did have illustrations.
  • this book did use color, as well as black and white.
  • this book did use actual photos.
  • this book did have a sort of sentimental/ lovely tone.
  • there were not a lot of words per page
  • there wasn't a word or phrase repeated throughout the book
  • most favorite/interesting sentence: "Aggle Flaggle Klabble!"
  • recommended age for this book: 2-5
  • why?: Because it talks about Trixie's first words.
  • yes, I believe I would have liked this book as a kid.
  • Why?: because I really liked stuffed animals, especially bunnies.

Childhood Memories

1.) I don't think i really have a childhood memory that sticks out the most, but rather just random memories that i can remember from when i was younger. I don't really remember much but what i do all sticks out to me the earliest memory i do have must've been from when i was a baby because that's when my parents have said it came from when i described what i remembered to them. the memory was that i was sitting on my dad's lap while he was playing a computer game in a white living room; the carpet was white and the walls were white and there was a single tan couch against the back wall. The desk was black that the monitor part of the computer stood on and it was metal framed. That's pretty much all i remember from when i lived in California was the apartment that my parents lived in while they were in the Navy.

2.) My mom was probably the most important person to me back then, i was attached at her hip and i was really shy. she was also going through college when i was around so i don't think i made it easy on her to say the least. I remember that we would always watch Barney together no matter how much she didn't like it; she even took me to see all of the Barney movies that were made.

3.)If i could have been granted adulthood as a child i would probably have used it up by now on something like what we were going to have for dinner(candy), and things like going to bed at a later time, and especially not taking a bath because I'm the adult and i can do whatever i want. But if i could use the childhood card as an adult i would spend it when I'm really REALLY old, like near death old so i could relive memories and remember what it was to feel younger again. (although I'd probably just sleep anyway, but at least I'd have no responsibilities for the time being)

4.) i moved around a lot, and my friends have always stayed kind of the same (Carissa and I have been friends since 5th grade, i think that's seven years..) So I've never had to really loose a close friend due to outgrowing each other; but if i had to choose one person it would probably have to me Kim Thomas. she's probably the one person whom I've made friends with in 6th grade who changed the most, we don't even glance over in each others direction anymore.

6.) I loved the TV shows: The Rugrats, Courage the cowardly dog, tele tubbies, Barney, Elmo, hey Arnold!, Ed Edd and Eddy, the Power puff girls, Invader Zim, Dora the explorer, catdog, the wild thornberrys, as told by ginger, Lizzie McGuire, Phil of the future, and so many more~ and yeah, i would probably watch  a remake if someone decided to do one of any of the cartoons, i mean, i watch all the remade star trek movies....

Spooky Share

I really liked how Natalie M.'s story was a mystery story, and I felt like the picture she choose went really well with the story plot. Savanna's story although short, kept me very entertained thought the entire thing, can't wait till the story comes to a full resolution ( also I really enjoyed her magic tree frog poem that she wrote). although there wasn't a story for me to read on Teyondra's blog I felt like their idea of Halloween seemed very down to earth and they seem like a very all around nice person. Happy Halloween!!!!!

The Pizza Man

*note this is an unfinished piece, sorry I haven't edited it yet either so yeah...*

~~~Back-story~~~
“I learned that from the pizza man” Cas slurred as he broke the kiss, referring to an inappropriate movie he had seen whilst flipping through the channels at the motel where Sam and Dean were staying at. Now, an angel shouldn’t have relations with any demon, but Meg was different. Meg would help the Winchesters against Crowley, another demon who calls himself the king of hell; But Meg didn’t help them because it was the right thing to do necessarily, rather that she really didn’t like Crowley but nonetheless she developed a bond with the Winchesters especially since they both had the same motives most of the time. Clarence, as Meg would call Cas seemed to have a certain attraction for Meg and her for him as well; though it appeared to be something deeper, that it was their love for Sam and Dean that brought them together.
~~~End Back-story~~~

            Desperately trying to find the angel tablet, only Meg knows where it would be, being the only one who has been around long enough, and who isn’t dead yet which is why the Winchesters are trying to find her, but when he did it was too late. Crowley had gotten to her already as the scar marks and stab wounds indicate “I still didn’t tell him” said retorted, her eyes still swollen closed and although her voice was raspy, there was still that undeniable trademark tone of sass lurking between words “Tell Clarence I’ll catch the pizza man later” and with that her black demon eyes became glassy, almost doll like, and her red hair matted heavily obvious with long term torture, undoubtedly Crowley’s work. It always came down to this, every friend, every family member always died. Yet every time, Dean especially couldn’t help but feel torn and loose that much more hope for this already devastated world. The truth was even though he tried to stay positive, Dean just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, and he can’t even imagine it. Sam on the other hand is motivated by the light, he knows it’s there and he’s moved by it, which baffles Dean because they’ve been through some crap that not just any everyday Joe goes through, not even every hunter. And looking back on the past they remember when their biggest concern was when their dad had gone on a hunt and hadn’t been back in a few days. But what life did they really have? Going from motel to motel, eating only fast food, life on the road, almost getting killed by just about every supernatural creature, stealing credit cards because this job doesn’t pay anything, fake ids; these were the reasons why Dean sought it difficult to keep persevering, but why Sam does. But right now instead of grieving they needed to find that tablet, that tablet when given to the wrong hands could potentially turn the earth into a literal hell. Sam had become so weak though, from doing the demon trials to close the gates of hell. It was a struggle for Dean to see Sam this way because he never wanted his brother to go through this; it was supposed to be him. All he ever wanted for Sam was to go to college like he had wanted to, and to have a family, and live in a nice house; he could see a future for Sam. That’s why now he would do anything to help. Family always came first, that’s how it’s always been, ever since Dean was little and his dad made him take care of his little brother. It was always shoot first ask questions later, which was how they survived and kept each other alive.

~~~~~~
It came to the point where Sam was now on the last trial for shutting the gates of hell, and he never looked worse. Sam's health had increasingly deteriorated due to the lengthy processes the trials demanded. Cas had the angel tablet now and left the Winchesters behind for their own safety, and for the safety of the angel tablet as well so neither Crowley nor Naomi, an angel who took over heaven. Cas had teamed up with another angel named Metatron to save heaven, and then the unthinkable happened. Cas and Metatron were doing trials to save heaven, and bring peace to the world but Metatron had crossed Cas and then.. the angels started to fall. Heaven was locked out forcing angels into our world. Good intentions or not.
As I looked at the Jack-o-Lantern, it seemed to be looking back at me. Then I began to wonder what was in that candy in which the old man had given us. I didn't feel good and by the looks that the pumpkin was giving me I probably didn't look so good either. As I attempt to gather my bearings I notice my peers are as well experiencing the same symptoms as I am currently experiencing which confirms my suspicions that the old man had given us tainted candy on this Halloween night. Parents and teachers always talked about letting them check your candy before you eat it because of people who would put things like razorblades or poison in treats and then give them to kids like us, but we always though "oh, it couldn't happen to me" but look at us now. Wasted on the pavement in the drive way of the neighboring house, my group lay unable to move, like myself, due to the affects of the poison. At that moment I began to become unable to keep my eyes open any longer and that's when I heard it, the footsteps, undeniably that of the old man that gave us the candy. I heard him take each one of my friends into his house until only I was left outside, and I tried my best to open my eyes and move my numb body to safety but it was too late. he dragged me and left me somewhere in his house, probably the basement on account that I could feel him drag me down some stairs. And that was the last anyone would hear of me,  the last that I was ever going to be outside again, the last time I was ever going to be free. No one would know what ever happened to that one girl in math class, all they would know is that she was gone possibly forever. All their parents would spend countless nights awake looking for their lost children, blaming themselves for not going with them "come on! we're responsible!" they had said and their parents reluctant "well... alright, I love you be safe." speech they had given them before they left will forever haunt their memories.
Music is always the answer (part2)
  • it really depends on which genre of music I'm listening to evoke certain emotions, but I really enjoy listening to instrumental pieces because it makes me feel "real"
  • my favorite song changes just about everyday but today I'm feeling the song London calling; its an instrumental piece that I really enjoy, its from star trek but it really is very beautiful and I wouldn't have guessed it was from star trek if I hadn't already known.
  • my taste of music has changed over the years from god awful to almost hippy really chill music.
  • my friends listen to some songs that I like but over all I think that we all have very different tastes and listen to different types of music because we are different people and not all friends need to listen to the same sort of music to get along. its when a friend insults your taste and preferences in music and argue that theirs is better than yours that makes people not friends.
  • music for me, offers a place for my thoughts and feelings to go and be inspired and relax a moment.
  • I don't think I'd want to be a musician professionally because I am currently a musician and although I love it I can't commit to it.
music is always the answer
  • 80s pop and new wave music reminds Srta. Hoover of her childhood, while rock n' roll and pop music reminds me of mine.
  • B. Manolo is Mrs. A's favorite singer because she's gone to many of their concerts and she really likes the style of music they play. My favorite singer or group really depends on what I feel like listening to that day- however I don't think I really have one because I like to listen to various songs all with different music styles, but I think I prefer instrumental music the most.
  • The song I Hope You Dance by Leanne Wallmack reminds Mrs. A of her family. The song video killed the radio star reminds me of my family because when I was little my parents would lay that in the car a lot and we would all sing together.
  • Srta. Hoover does go to concerts and she says that any concerts that are outside are all memorable for her.
    The kind of "concerts" I go to are theatrical plays rather than bands or singers, I've seen The Lion King, Oklahoma, Oliver, The Nutcracker and I've played in a few plays here at school in the pit such as Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of Penzance, and currently I am in Spamalot. All the plays I've seen are memorable for me in different ways and I like every one in different ways too.
  • Srta. Hoover normally doesn't listen to the radio in her car,  she prefers to listen to her own music whether it be on a CD or her iPod. I like to listen to the stations 99.9, 106.7, 96.5, 92.9, and many others; It just depends on if that station is playing any songs that I like.
  • Mrs. Thater said that the band Kiss was very controversial/offensive to some when she was growing up, and the only type of music that offends her is music that degrades women and treats them like objects. I don't really remember there being any controversial music when I was growing up because maybe it was the way my parents raised me, but music is all expression and they taught me to respect every body's opinion. I remember though, that everyone really liked the blue song (Im blue da ba dee da ba di da ba dee da ba di da ba dee da ba di da ba dee Da ba di da ba dee da ba di )
  • Mrs. Thater doesn't refuse any type of music, she's willing to try it out but she'll never just refuse to listen to something just because its a certain genre or because of a group or singer sings it; and In that I believe that her and I are alike in trying new things.
Works by Edward Hopper
There once was a man who never though to make much of himself. sure he went through his schooling and had his parents there for him when he needed them, but he never intended to make much of his life due to lack of motivation that the world seemed to leave out for him. merely just existing now- no family, friends, or relatives for his parents had passed on around his early thirties. currently living in his abandoned box cart he found along an empty train track route that just like him has been left alone in the world with not much, if anything at all to offer. "Maybe he'll change." they said as he grew up "It's just a phase", but no; Not with the world we live in today. Is there really purpose for this one man? everyday people grow up to go to school everyday, until they're old enough then they say "go to college, and educate yourself." then that person has debt from "educating themselves" and then goes on to work. This person works all day, and for what? To pay off their debt that they got from going onto college to receive an education. and now the person is old and decides to retire, with what really that the person achieved in life? making money? getting a nice house? "Materialistic fundamentals are not worthy enough to be living for." the hobo says, " And yet people still ask me why I didn't do something with my life, when all along they saw I had nothing to offer."
Poems for Paintings
You Can't Repeat The past
Feeling foolish for remembering
but I just can't seem to let it go
about what happened a thousand years ago
I'm trying to forget it all
and simply just have a ball
I came here to have fun
this is all so dumb...
maybe it's a sign
but for now I'll just sit here and dine
because I've had a little too much wine
I should really drink some coffee
while I think about you and me
Of Corse You Can Repeat the Past, Old Sport
Sitting here Like we always used to do
at our favorite restaurant here, just after two
When I would look into your eyes
and my stomach would swarm with butterflies
I would order my usual hot green tea
while you always got the black coffee
no cream, or sugar, always bitter
which is more or less how it ended
well dear, I know we've been better
which is why I will always show up here
and wait for the better life we always had planned together
Life on The Sea ( a Tonka)
wandering the sea
no true direction is set
waiting and watching
maybe one day they will bite
but for now they keep swimming
Window Poem
Straight ahead I see the untold adventures that deep space holds
there are new stars and galaxies making today different
sometimes following protocol can be rewarding
sometimes you need to know when to break the rules
you can't always see it, but you know it's out there
whether it be here or there, only your heart can tell
when traveling at warp speed to a new adventure
and boldly go where no one has gone before.
